Gleeson is inviting the Burnley community to comment on three new housing developments the company plans to build in the Daneshouse and Stoneyholme areas of the town.
As part of the consultation process the Bury based housebuilder is holding four ‘drop-in’ community events in venues near the sites to display their proposed plans and speak to residents about the type of new homes to be built, the range of Gleeson schemes available to help people purchase their new home and the positive impact new homes can have on a community.
Gleeson, who specialises in building low cost homes for local people, is initially proposing to build just over 100 much needed new homes across the three sites which will take approximately 4 years to complete and create new jobs and homes for local people.
Sarah Marsden, Sales Director for Gleeson Homes explains, “Gleeson specialise in purchasing clearance sites on which we build 2, 3 and 4 bedroom semi & detached homes. Because our prices are so affordable a large proportion of our customers are local people who previously rented their homes but can now afford to buy.”
Sarah adds, “Every community in which we build is different and we always hold community events prior to the submission of the planning document so we can speak to local people and, if possible, review our plans to better meet the needs of the community.”
Burnley Borough Council welcomes the proposed new homes which are to be built on parcels of land cleared as part of the HMR programme over the last few years.
The first of Gleeson’s consultation events will take place on Tuesday 13th September at Burnley Boys & Girls Club off Barden Lane with Burnley residents invited to ‘drop-in’ any time between 6 and 9pm. Further events will take place at Stoneyholme and Daneshouse Community Centre on the 14th September with a ladies only session between 10am and 1pm and another open event between 6 and 9pm. The final event will take place at Colne Road Library between 6 and 9am on Thursday 15th September.
