Gleeson Homes has hailed four community events regarding their proposed new homes in the Daneshouse and Stoneyholme area of thetown as a great success.
The events, which took place in various community buildings around the area attracted over 120 local residents, businesses and councillors all keen to learn more about the three proposed developments on Oswald Street, Abel Street and New Hall Street. The developments will see the transformation of three derelict sites and eventually bring over 100 much needed private new homes to the community as well as jobs for local people and improvements in local infrastructure as a knock on effect.
Gleeson’s new homes in Daneshouse and Stoneyholme are anticipated to be priced from £87,995 with Gleeson offering a range of schemes to help buyers purchase their new home.
Sarah Mardsen, Sales Director for Gleeson Homes said, “We had a very positive response from all the residents and businesses that attended the events. There were no objections. People appeared to be really enthusiastic about the prospect of new homes and development in the area”.
Sarah added, “We are proposing to build 2, 3 and 4 bedroom semi and detached homes. Each home will have parking on-the-plot plus a generously sized garden which proved very popular with residents living in an area which is currently dominated by smaller terrace properties”.
Councillor Shah Hussain, who attended one of the events said, “After years of campaigning for houses to be built for sale to the local community, Gleeson has come forward with a wonderful development, which meets the needs of the community, I look forward to the first houses to be built”
The housebuilder will be submitting a planning application to the council in the coming weeks and between the 10th and 14th of October 2011 residents are invited to view the application and obtain further information on the housing schemes at The Participation Works, 51 Daneshouse Road.
Sarah said, “We have worked closely with Burnley Borough Council to ensure we propose a private housing scheme which fully meets the requirements of local residents. We hope to obtain planning permission early next year with the first homes released for sale in Spring 2012. Based on the outcome of the community meetings we expect demand for the new homes to be high. I would urge anyone who missed the community events and is interested in the new homes to contact us soon to ensure they don’t miss out”.
