COVID-19 Updates

The safety of our customers, staff, sub-contractors and supply chain is and will always be our number one priority and during the coronavirus pandemic we have taken many measures to ensure this.

This has not changed but as we are seeing the lifting of some restrictions, we are now able to begin the task of completing the build of homes that have already been reserved and invite you into our sales centres, under new social distancing guidelines.

Below are details of how we are responding as well as all the contact details that you might need should you wish to contact someone at Gleeson.

What we are doing to manage COVID risk

As we continue the remobilisation of our sites, to ensure we are doing all that we can to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, specific procedures and guidance have been created for the safe operation of our sites and sales offices during the current pandemic.

On our construction sites:

COVID-19 Site Operating Procedures have been produced in line with Government approved guidance by the Construction Leadership Council and Public Health England. To assist with the implementation of these procedures a detailed site management guidance document has been produced which sets out the specific requirements needed to comply on our sites. This highlights what a site must have in place to re-open for operations.

Examples of these include:

  •   - Enhanced cleaning procedures
  •   - Strict social distancing measures introduced including COVID-19 Social Distancing Marshalls
  •   - A COVID-19 Site Induction
  •   - COVID-19 Code of Conducts for all on site
  •   - Controlled working areas through a permit system

And in addition to the above, in our sales centres:

All customers who wish to visit our sales centres and show homes will first need to make an appointment by phone or email. Customers will be asked to complete a short COVID-19 questionnaire, and we will also clearly explain how their visit to our sales centres will be conducted and the procedures we have in place, to ensure the safety of our customers and our employees.

Examples of these include:

  •   - Meetings and viewings of show homes by appointment only
  •   - A maximum of one family (max two people) in the sales centre/show homes at any one time
  •   - Ensuring we maintain a safe two metre distance at all times
  •   - The use of disposable gloves and overshoes
  •   - Hand wash points

Sales centre openings

The opening of our sales centres has commenced.

You can book an appointment by calling or emailing your local sales team. Our sales team are available from 10am to 5pm seven days a week via phone, email or video call.

Throughout our 10 operating areas, there will be Gleeson super sites, where new customers can go and view a wide range of show homes as well as speak to a sales executive about buying schemes. There will also be dedicated sites in each area where existing customers who are already in the process of buying a Gleeson home can visit to select options and discuss general progress.

In both instances we will only be able to see customers who have made an appointment and have seen our Customer Guidance Form.

Q & A’s:

When will my new home will be ready?

As soon as we are fully operational on site, we will prioritise all homes that have been reserved to try and avoid any further delay where we can. Our sales teams will have been keeping you up to date on the situation and will soon be able to give you further detail on the progress of your home with an estimated completion date.

How are your sites and sales processes going to function under the guidelines?

Firstly, anyone who will be working on a construction site, or in a sales office will be provided with a full COVID 19 induction. This will ensure that they have all the knowledge and equipment to carry out their job in a safe manner and we will be taking all the practical measures on our sites to ensure that we strictly adhere to strict Government guidelines. When our sales offices are open, we will only be able to see customers who have an appointment and they will be sent our sales safety procedure in advance.

What protection measures have you put in place for sub-contractors and staff working on the site?

Following the recommendations of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and Public Health England, we have developed a comprehensive plan that we have is now in place. We will have a team of dedicated social distancing marshals on every open site to ensure that procedures are being adhered to.

Who should I contact if I have a specific enquiry?

You should speak to the person or department who you would normally speak to. Each department in our business has been and will continue to operate on the usual numbers. If someone is unavailable, you should speak to the area office on these numbers where we will be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have. If you are a customer who has not yet moved into your new home you should speak to a member of the sales team in the first instance, you can do this by contacting the sales office number or emailing sales@mjgleeson.com

Can I view a show home?

Once our sales offices and show homes are open, you will be able to view a show home, it just might be that you’ll need to travel to a different site to the one in which you that you are interested. All viewings like sales office visits will be strictly by appointment and we will be explaining how things will work and what measures we are taking prior to your visit, so that you know what to expect. Over the course of the next few days, we will be carrying out the essential work of making our sites both safe and secure and prepared for when we are able to return. We will be working in collaboration with our customers and sub-contractors to ensure that these plans will be carried out with the least of disruption where possible. As soon as we can return safely, we will be back building low-cost quality homes for first time buyers, many of whom are the key-workers currently working for all of our benefit in the fight against the pandemic. We are hugely grateful to them and we want to play our part.
