A choice of bars and eateries are all within walking distance of the development. Whether your after some local fish and chips and a stroll along the beach, or a pint of real ale and some hearty pub grub, Blackhall Colliery has plenty to offer. Tweddle Farm is only a five minute drive away and is fun for all the family, with options to feed the animals and take tractor rides.

 If you're more of the outdoors type head over to Castle Eden Nature Reserve, just over five miles away this semi-natural woodland is now the largest in the north east of England and is famous for its majestic yew trees and fantastic ancient oak and ash trees.

St Joseph's RC Primary School, Blackhall Primary School and Hesleden Primary School are all within walking distance of Hardwicke Place. Also, a range of nurseries, primary and secondary schools are only a seven minute drive away in the neighbouring village of Peterlee.
