Gleeson Homes will shortly be opening two brand new developments in Cumbria. The move into the region comes as the housebuilder and regeneration specialist sees unprecedented demand for homes on its other sites across the north of England, with some buyers camping for days to guarantee they get their chosen home.
Recently voted the most sustainable company in the UK, Gleeson Homes specialise in purchasing brownfield sites and transforming them into brand new communities of semi and detached homes, which are priced to help local people get on the property ladder with monthly mortgage repayments lower than rent on nearby properties.
Andy Patmore, Area Manager for Gleeson Homes commented “There is a clear need for our new homes in Cumbria. Young people will now have the option to stay in their own communities and own a brand new home. Our new area office in Carlisle is already providing new jobs for local people and we are looking to fill a number of other vacancies both in our offices and on site. We have ambitious growth plans in the area and we are keen to talk to local bricklayers, joiners, groundworkers and other trades.”
Gleeson will shortly start work on developments in Carlisle and Longtown and is actively looking for other sites in the area to develop into their unique communities of traditional and spacious homes. To help buyers Gleeson offers a range of schemes to get people moving including the Government’s Help to Buy.
In addition to promoting home ownership to local young people and helping them to get onto the property ladder, Gleeson is dedicated to making a difference in the local community through its Community Matters programme. If you are looking for an apprenticeship or have a junior sports team in need of sponsorship then Gleeson would like to hear from you.
