Gleeson welcomed local Councillor Sonny Kirkup to celebrate the start of construction on Stephenson Court, Gleeson’s first and eagerly awaited new homes development in Peterlee where 2, 3, and 4 bedroom homes are now available to buy from £105,995 or £84,796 using Help to Buy.
Gleeson’s affordable prices are further enhanced by a range of schemes which are specifically designed to help first time buyers purchase their first home. Gleeson is also offering the Government’s Help to Buy initiative on all homes at Stephenson Court.
The Help to Buy scheme allows buyers to own 100% of their new home for 80% of the price. The buyer needs just a 5% deposit with the outstanding 20% provided by the government as an equity loan which is interest free for 5 years. A smaller mortgage means smaller mortgage repayments which could be as little as £80 per week when purchasing a 2 bedroom home at Stephenson Court.
After viewing the site Cllr Kirkup said, “I’m delighted that work on Stephenson Court is now underway. This piece of land has been vacant for a number of years and Gleeson’s development will provide a much needed boost to the area. The new homes will be a welcome addition to the community and I’m pleased to hear they are already popular with local buyers. ”.
He added, “I understand how hard it is for first time buyers to get on the property ladder so I am pleased that the prices of Gleeson homes will be affordable for local people wanting to buy their first home or buy a bigger home as their family grows.”
Gleeson prides itself on building homes for local people, at prices they can afford, in areas they want to live. Gleeson are committed to building traditional homes with private back gardens for the kids to play in and parking on the plot, creating a positive impact on the local community and environment.
Gleeson is also committed to working with the local community through its Community Matters Scheme whereby they provide sponsorship for local junior sports teams, visit local schools to give talks on site safety and create job and apprentice opportunities for local people.
Ed Alder, Regional Director for Gleeson Homes said, “It was a pleasure to welcome Cllr Kirkup to Stephenson Court. We are delighted to bring our homes to Peterlee for the first time and have a busy summer ahead as we the build homes. We are currently looking to sponsor a local junior sports team and are also on the lookout for a local primary school to take part in our ‘Design a bedroom’ competition, where one talented pupil will have their design created in one of our show homes. If you are interested in either of these, or you would like details about starting an apprenticeship with us please do get in touch!”.
