Yorkshire based house builder Gleeson have been granted permission to build new homes in Mirfield on the former McInerney housing development in Lower Hopton. Kirklees Council approved plans for 95 new Gleeson homes to be built on land that which stood incomplete for 10 years. Prior to commencing build on their own homes, Gleeson is now selling the 4 existing properties left by McInerney when they went into administration. The site will be called Calder View and build of the new homes is scheduled to be start next year.

The development will include a mix of spacious 2, 3, and 4 bedroom semi and detached homes which all feature a driveway or garage. The new homes will be priced to suit local buyers with a range of schemes available to get first time buyers onto the property ladder including Help to Buy.

As well as bringing new homes to the area, Gleeson will roll out their Community Matters Programme and are now looking for a local junior sports team to sponsor as part of their Sports Foundation plus applications from local young people who are interested in the Gleeson Apprenticeship Scheme.
