Gleeson have marked the start of construction on their Acklam Gardens development in Middlesbrough by inviting local Councillor Denise Rooney to officially ‘Cut the Turf’ for the first phase of new homes to be built on land which has stood vacant for years.
The first 13 homes, which were priced from £94,995, were snapped up off-plan by local buyers as soon as the Sales Office opened just after Christmas and the house builder is now receiving a high demand of registrations from locals eager to move in.
Both the local community and the council have strongly supported Gleeson’s development of the land, which, by completion will see 304 semi and detached homes built for private sale.
Upon inspecting the site, Councillor Denise Rooney commented “We have already seen the success of Gleeson’s other developments in Middlesbrough and we have all been really impressed with Gleeson’s sales success at Acklam Gardens. The interest proves that there are many locals eager to get onto the property ladder. We look forward to watching the community and development grow over the coming years wish them a successful build throughout.”
Ed Alder, Regional Director for Gleeson Homes added, “Thank you to Councillor Denise for joining us to celebrate the start of this much anticipated development. We are delighted that Acklam Gardens has proved so popular with locals and look forward to welcoming our first residents into their new homes in late summer”
Ed adds, “Throughout all our developments we look to help the local community through our Community Matters programme. We are now looking for a local junior sports team to sponsor and are also welcoming applications for young people interested in joining our apprenticeship scheme.”
