Mayor joined forces with Dr Who fan to open new show homes in Blyth

Gleeson Homes was joined by the Mayor of Blyth, Councillor Adrian Cartie, his wife, County Councillor Eileen Cartie and Councillors Kath Nisbet and Margaret Richardson at its £18 million project at Crawford Park in Blyth to officially open the new show homes.  New 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes at Crawford Park are available to buy now with prices starting from just £99,995.

Gleeson Homes Area Manager Adrian Field and Sales Manager Lindsey Oliver took the guests around the brand new show homes.  The Mayor of Blyth, Adrian Cartie commented, “I am very impressed with how affordable the homes are for local people. We are committed to supporting good quality housing developments that meet the needs of local people who want to own a home of their own.”

Another key attendee was 5 year old Gracie-Mae, a pupil at Morpeth Road Academy.  Gleeson Homes invited pupils from the nearby school to enter a competition to design their dream bedroom.  The winning design, a Dr Who theme, was then replicated by Gleeson’s team of interior designers in one of the new show homes.  Well-deserved winner Gracie-Mae attended the event with her Grandad and Head of the primary school to receive her prize.

Mr Garner, Gracie-Mae’s Grandad explained, “Gracie-Mae was thrilled to win the Design a Bedroom competition.  Dr Who is a favourite of ours and being able to see Gracie’s design come to life in the show home was so exciting for us both!”

Lindsey Oliver, Sales Manager for Gleeson Homes said, “Our new homes are proving really popular with local people due to their affordable prices and mortgage repayments are often cheaper than local rent levels.  All our houses include a driveway and front and rear gardens and we also offer a range of schemes to assist first time buyers, such as the Government backed Help to Buy.  Crawford Park is perfect for buyers looking to live close to shops, schools and other amenities.”

MJ Gleeson has been voted the most sustainable company in the UK due to the housebuilder’s use of environmentally friendly materials such as gravel on driveways, commitment to Living Wage and working closely with local communities in which they build through the Gleeson Community Matters scheme.

In addition to promoting home ownership to local young people and helping them to get onto the property ladder Gleeson is dedicated to making a difference in the community, by providing job opportunities for local people, offering apprenticeship schemes and providing sponsorship for local junior sports teams.

The Sales Office and Show Homes at Crawford Park are open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm.
