Buyers in Stanley will soon be spoilt for choice thanks to Gleeson Homes who will shortly be opening their second new homes development in the area on the site of the former South Moor Hospital in Middles Road.
Durham County Council have granted Gleeson permission to build sixty five traditional 2, 3 and 4 bedroom semi and detached homes on the land that has been vacant for a number of years. All homes will feature both front and back gardens plus either a driveway or garage.
New homes on Gleeson’s first development in the area, Sheildrow Park in New Kyo, have proven extremely popular with first time buyers thanks to their low, affordable prices with the spacious homes giving people a realistic alternative to renting.
To enhance their affordability Gleeson offers a range of schemes on all homes including the Government’s Help to Buy which allows you to buy with just a 5% deposit and benefit from lower mortgage repayments.
Ed Alder, Regional Director for the North East commented, “We are delighted to be bringing more homes to the area. We look forward to getting more young people onto the property ladder as well as working with the local community through our Community Matters Programme.”
As part of their Community Matters Programme the Gateshead based housebuilder is now looking for local junior sports teams to sponsor and inviting young people to apply for their apprenticeship schemes.
As part of the planning application Gleeson has will also be offering a contribution towards ecology projects in the local area.
Construction of the new homes is due to commence late autumn with the first homes released for sale at the same time.
2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes at Shieldrow Park are now available to buy from £90,995. Information on both developments and the Community Matters Programme can be found on www.gleeson-homes.co.uk
