Northumberland County Council has granted northern based housebuilder Gleeson permission to build 142 new homes for private sale just off Cowpen Road in Blyth. The development, which will be Gleeson’s second development in the town, will transform the former Bates Colliery land into a new community of homes aimed at local first time buyers.

The development, to be known as Crawford Park, includes a mix of 2, 3, and 4 bedroom semi and detached homes which will all feature a driveway or garage. The Government’s Help to Buy will be available on all homes along with a range of other schemes to help people get onto the property ladder.  Construction is due to start early next year with Gleeson welcoming the first residents to their new homes next summer.
