Following rapid expansion, northern based housebuilder , Gleeson Homes has taken the decision to move its operations from their Chester le Street base to new, larger premises in Gateshead.
Gleeson, who are on track to build over 1,000 new homes this year, currently have 15 developments in the Tyne & Wear and County Durham area from which they sell their unique brand of homes which are priced to suit local first time buyers. The move north comes as the company looks to open more developments in this core area and expand into Northumberland and the Scottish borders. Their area office in Wynyard will continue to coordinate operations in the south of the region.
Ed Alder, Regional Director for Gleeson Homes said, “As we see growth in both our geographical reach and staffing numbers it makes perfect sense to move to a larger office further north close to the A1. We are looking to nearly double our developments over the next 12 months which will create numerous site and office based employment opportunities for local people.”
