Construction has now commenced on Gleeson’s brand new development in Ashington with the first homes now available to buy from £109,995 or just £87,996 with the Help to Buy scheme.
Earlier this year, Northumberland County Council granted Gleeson permission to redevelop the land which was formerly part of the hospital car park and helipad at Wansbeck Hospital. Situated south west of the hospital, the new homes will bring a new lease of life to the currently vacant site and are anticipated to be extremely popular with local first time buyers, especially those working at the hospital.
The new development, known as Woodhorn Park, is the northern house builders second development in the area with homes at Malvins Walk in Blythe being snapped up by eager buyers as soon as they are released for sale..
Gleeson’s homes are priced to offer key workers and young people the opportunity to get out of the rent trap and onto the property ladder. In addition to providing schemes like the government’s Help to Buy, Gleeson works closely with new homes mortgage specialists who can secure mortgages for first time buyers, many of whom thought they weren’t in a position to buy their own home.
Ed Alder, Regional Director for the North East said, “Ashington is a great area to live in and we look forward to working with the community over the coming months to make home ownership possible for local people. Our low prices make our homes really popular with buyers and we already have plans to open further developments in both Ashington and Blythe”.
